A cheap but charming NYC lesbian mom muses about muses about consumerism and wanting the good life, without having to pay top dollar for it. (Oh, and with some random ramblings about her own extended family, parenting toddlers, the NYC school system, fashion, Lindsay Lohan, and other fun stuff.)
Started a new freelance gig in Chinatown this morning. Took a walk around the nabe at lunchtime, and found this incredible Chinese bakery, Fay Da Bakery, with gorgeous red velvet cupcakes for only $1.50 each, plus the expected fantastic Chinese treats, like steamed pork buns, sesame balls, and cream-filled doughy things. Mmm. HFE doesn't mind paying when lunch is $1.80.
